Fried sweet potato chunk - it's literally what it is. It's basically sweet potatoes cut in small random cut chunks, and deep fried in cooking oil. This simple and delicious snack can be perfect menu for parties, large gatherings or even as a replacement of pop corns when watching a movie at home. Just try not to gorge yourself with this fried food, because it going to so good! 🙂
Here is how you prepare and cook this wonderful dish.
Wash sweet potatoes clean in running water.
Peel sweet potatoes and keep them in a water-filled container to avoid discoloration caused by oxidization.
Cut them up randomly into chunks.
Keep the cut pieces in water, for the same reason as above.
Heat up the deep fryer or just a pot filled with cooking oil. We will use palm oil for this recipe.
Once the oil is nicely heated and gets that ripple occurring at the bottom, start putting in the sweet potato chunks.
Fry them until they turn golden brown and fully cooked.
Drain the chunks out from the oil and leave them to dry on a kitchen town.
Enjoy as it is, or with a dipping sauce.
The Dipping Sauce
One of the favorite dipping to accompany fried sweet potato chunk is French Aioli sauce. This has been our all time favorite and we understand it sounds fattening, but it is superb! There are many Aioli sauce recipes on Google, but we have list some links for you, for your convenience.
Bon appetit!
