Seed Origin at Indonesian Pavilion in Seoul Food 2019 in Seoul, Korea

Updated: May 31, 2019

Between 21 ~ 24 May 2019, we exhibited in Seoul Food 2019, under the Indonesian Pavilion. This was held in KINTEX, situated somewhere in the northern outskirt of Seoul, and Indonesian Embassy of Korea and ITPC Busan supported us greatly throughout the whole exhibition. We have been highly honored for the invitation to participate in the pavilion and we hope that more potential clients in Korea and also from other countries have been intrigued by the high quality Indonesian sweet potato products we offered.

We arrived in Seoul in the evening of 19th, and headed to KINTEX in the morning of 20th for set up and installation. ID cards were issued and we were able to walk in and out freely. The setting of the booth didn't take too long as we only had a handful of products to display and all our banners and display materials had been ordered in Korea via Indonesian Embassy. This is what it looked like on the 20th, after the installation was complete.

Yes, as you can see from the picture, we represent few brands, either as supplier or marketer. One thing we do other than sweet potato is to market great Indonesian products to overseas, including Korea. This time, we brought Singabera Ginger Drink, and show cased it along with some products of our Korean clients.

Because our close knit Korean partner, Foodistry Co., Ltd, won 3rd place in SIAL Innovative Products Award in Shanghai just a week before Seoul Food, we were proud to promote their products which uses our sweet potato puree as the main ingredient. The award given primarily because Wellygo, Foodistry's pouch sweet potato porridge, does not use any artificial additives nor any sweetening agents. They rely on our Cilembu sweet potato, which is naturally high in sweetness, reaching up to 14 Brix as a raw material, but this boosts up to 25 ~ 30 Brix once heated, hence no need for Foodistry to add any extra sweetening agents, evidently good for your health too!

So on the day of exhibition, we went again, looking very presentable, as we should be. Our primary goal for Seoul Food 2019 was to just connect and engage with our existing clients in Korea, but we ended up meeting few potential clients who were interested in our high quality Cilembu sweet potato puree.

Overall, this has been a highly successful exhibition to be in. Seoul Food 2019 was a great place to meet and engage with both our existing and new potential clients. We thank the Indonesian Ambassador to Korea, who share the same vision as us, which is to promote high quality Indonesian agricultural products to the world. At Seed Origin, we are partaking in this movement, beginning with sweet potato and pumpkin and we will be honored to join yet another exhibition under Indonesian Pavilion in the future.

We definitely recommend all the Indonesian food companies seeking to find publicity in Korea to partake in next Seoul Food, which will be in 2020. Our experience was amazing and the Embassy and ITPC are very supportive. We are very proud to be a part of this amazing event and very grateful for all the new opportunities this event opened up for us.

We encourage you to follow us on Instagram (@seed.origin) and stay updated on our company culture and information about Indonesian sweet potato (and more)!
